This is the end-to-end component zoned storage and semi-finished product staging area of the source vape factory we partner with. It covers four major functions: classified storage of raw materials, isolation of defective products, zoning of finished and semi-finished products, and standardized tool storage. It is the core supporting area to ensure orderly production on the assembly line, prevent material mixing, and standardize quality control, fully supporting the operation of assembly, testing, and packaging processes.

1. Component & Raw Material Zoned Storage Area
- Storage Setup: Multi-tier shelving divides independent plastic turnover boxes. Core components such as atomizer cores (coils), electrodes, plastic inner shells, batteries, and sealing rings are arranged in color-coded baskets by specification, flavor, and model.
- Mixing Prevention: The red, yellow, and blue atomization components are stored in separate independent zones, paired with identification labels to distinguish batches and completely eliminate the mixing of different material models.
- Efficiency & Protection: All components are sealed and stored to be dust-proof and anti-static, minimizing component bumps and dust contamination from the source. This allows assembly stations to quickly retrieve materials as needed, significantly improving assembly line efficiency.
2. Dedicated Defective Product Isolation Area
- Physical Isolation: The area is clearly labeled as the “Defective Product Area.” Separate plastic boxes are used to store semi-finished products with cosmetic defects, circuit failures, or failed oil-leakage tests. They are physically isolated from qualified parts to prevent defective products from mixing into the normal production flow.
- Disposal Process: Defective products are gathered collectively for centralized rework and disassembly; reusable components are sorted and recycled, and scrapped parts are handled in compliance with regulations. This strictly implements the factory’s quality control isolation system and prevents defective products from entering the finished product stage.
3. Semi-Finished and Finished Product Staging & Storage Area
- Product Protection: Completed devices that have undergone assembly and performance testing are individually sealed in aluminum foil bags and stacked in baskets by color scheme and flavor to isolate them from air oxidation and dust scratches.
- Process Staging: Color boxes to be packed and outer carton matching materials are placed in synchronized zones, corresponding one-to-one with the finished products. This facilitates batch material retrieval for downstream inkjet coding, labeling, and packaging processes, achieving orderly transfer of semi-finished products, balancing the production capacity of each assembly line process, and avoiding accumulation or downtime.
4. Standardized Tool Storage Area
- Organized Storage: Independent tool racks are divided into compartments and zones. Tools and fixtures such as pliers, scissors, welding tools, cleaning consumables, glue, and testing accessories are stored by category with regional signs posted.
- 5S Management: Tools are returned to designated spots after use, making it easy for workers to quickly access, count, and maintain them. This keeps the workstation clean and standardized, reduces production delays caused by lost or mixed tools, and achieves 5S standardized management in the workshop.
Overall Management Advantages
The entire area utilizes anti-static blue turnover boxes and multi-tiered steel shelves, with warning lines marked on the ground. The four zones—raw materials, defective products, semi-finished products, and tools—are physically separated, and clear identification labels enable material batch traceability.
Standardized zoned management not only prevents production issues like mixed materials, incorrect assembly, and the escape of defective products, but also optimizes material retrieval and transfer processes. It improves the cleanliness, production efficiency, and quality control level of the entire production line, making it an indispensable supporting storage area for a standardized dust-free vape workshop.
